Amy Dark, Founder
Amy’s heart behind Blooms
“In 2019, I became aware of the issue of period poverty. I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t heard of this problem before, which affects so many women and girls around the world. The Lord stirred a passion in me, and I began serving and helping with a different organization. I have witnessed firsthand not only the need but also the joy and thankfulness in the recipients of these reusable menstrual hygiene kits.
Blooms was born from the desire to help even more girls and partner with more mission groups in distributing kits. We provide the product and educational materials, then use the established logistics of other organizations to dispense and teach in the various communities in need.
The Lord cares for each of us, no one is forgotten. We strive to ensure that the love of the Lord reaches girls and women around the world so that EVERY girl blooms.”

Nancy Goertzen, Board Member & Sewing Coordinator
Nancy has loved sewing for most of her life and has spent decades creating clothing by hand, using her skills as both a practical craft and a ministry tool. Alongside her husband, Gene, she served as a missionary and dedicated 48 years to Awana, serving in California and Hawaii and traveling part-time to conduct leadership training conferences, Awana Games (often called the Awana Olympics), and area-wide Bible quizzes for clubbers from multiple churches.
Over the years, Nancy also helped organize and lead more than 20 years of Awana scholarship camps and occasionally served on international mission trips to teach and support Awana programs around the world. The couple welcomed and hosted many international leaders who came to learn and grow in ministry.
After retiring and relocating, Nancy was eager to continue serving through hands-on mission work. When the opportunity arose to use her sewing skills in ministry, she stepped in wholeheartedly. Nancy is grateful to now serve with Blooms Ministries, where she can combine a lifelong love of sewing with her passion for missions. She looks forward with great excitement to the continued growth and expansion of the ministry.
